Does DOP-Mii already have a new IOS56 version or does this update on top of the current IOS56 version?

afaik, dop-mii hasn't been updated to update IOS56 or shopping channel.

neither has NUSD

you would have to manually put in the version numbers.

if anything, get the WAD's from the update part of my guide.

Wii-Brew edition has: http://wiibrew.org/wiki/DOP-Mii

But you can't patch IOSes with it.

As far as I know the quickest way to get the new shopping channel for wii is using NUSD. I have the NUSD 1.3beta and it has the ios 56 v5662 on there and the v20 shopping channel. That is how I got mine to work.

Well, if you have wi-fi configured on your wii Dop-mii method is easier, since it download and install it automatically. If you don't have wi-fi, either Dop-Mii or NUSD will be the same.

i have never used or even heard of dop-mii. Can i use dop-mii to update my system menu to 4.3 without loosing my homebrew and hacking abilities?

there is no point, but if you do decide to
make sure you have the latest homebrew channel installed to avoid using any exploits using video games.
