DOESN'T WORK

Shows up in disc channel but black screen when pressing 'Start'.

I can also confirm this doesn't wok. I tried it on 50Hz , 60Hz and HD but just get black screen each time

i donno... i think i'll still wait for a wiikey review before buying a chip... one question though... with the wiikey, it boasts like a 70% success rate at doing this with a chip... could you use this program for the other 30%? also, playing a patched back up on a chip that does it on the fly, would this have any consequinces? i dont think it will since the region code is changed, i just wanted to confirm...

Tested The_Grim_Adventures_of_Billy_and_Mandy_USA_Wii on my PAL Wii with Wiinja V1 and it does NOT work.
It shows up in the disc channel but when u try to boot, it turns to black.

these are the same 70% as the wiikey.

so Wiinja v2 + Patcher = Wiikey - dvd upgrade

Why is that? Doesn't this method require a chip and shouldn't the Wiikey be just as good as anything else?

He was probably buying a Wiikey to replace a current mod that doesn't play other region titles.

Cant nintendo just encrypted the headers of Wii games from now so we wont be able to use this trick in the future?

firstly its below the header, secondly one assumes the wii is designed now to read the specific 17 bytes to check the region, unless the wii itself is updated to read an encrypted area of that then they cant just fix the games in future simply by encrypting.

Elebits (NTSC->Pal) crashes after the 2nd tutorial, so I think this should be changed to non working.

Not really, it's down to the coders how they check the region byte, it can be checked multiple times throughout the game.

I'm mentioning it so that someone can confirm or deny they can get passed the 2nd tutorial, after looking around the room (with the locked door) using the controller. After doing this section, the screen hangs with a black screen, music continues to play for a bit, then corrupts.

This is using a Wiinja v2 and tried on a few different discs, gmb-elebu release.
