From my understanding, it installs IOS37, which patches the signing bug. This apparently makes your HBC stop functioning correctly. But someone else should chime in, as I'm not 100% sure whats on the disc. Ah, but I have Wii Music and a Wiiscrubber, hold on, let me check.

Ok, so heres what Wii Music has:

IOS37-64-v2070 (taken from WiiScrubber)

I believe thats the rev of the IOS that actually fixes the signing bug. So I would WiiScrub it before you install. If not, take a risk and be a guinea pig

I brick blocked it using the software in the zip in my sig and it plays fine - no need for the update

Just burnt Wii Music Pal. And it works just fine, I have removed the update with WUI1.1...

I think KamuiX bought Wii Music instead of downloading it. I don't know if the Wii_Shop_and_IOS51_installer will help, I think it should, for I am way too noobish to be confident. Hopefully, some other nerd will help you.

just use starfall to block all updates.

Or if you have one of the newer chips use the update blocker provided with it. If you have the copy-loader you don't need to do anything.

I've used the Wii_Shop_and_IOS51_installer and am still getting the update screen on Wii music.
Gecko OS works fine to get past it though

You can probably upgrade and then run IOS Downgrader through HBC, assuming you have a cIOS installed. This will reinject the signing bug in anything important, while still having your Wii thinking it's updated ...

I do not run HBC. I am currently running firmware 3.2E. I downloaded WII music.
When inserting the DVD, the only option is to run system software upgrade.
Can I do this or not without bricking my WII?

Best not to upgrade if you dont have to I think.

Oh my god. Can you all talk more unfounded crap.
I can't be 100% sure but afaik Wii msic has 3.3v1 on it. I read it somewhere and to 99% Nintendo hadn't enough time to put v2 on there.
Well at last I'm not pulling something out of my ass like most here...

Brick blocker worked sweet on this game for me.

One problem i have as i am total noob with this game and a few others is i get non english language with english subtitles. Is there any way to reburn or patch these so you get english?

I must go thorugh the system software upgrade in order to play the WII music game.

But let me rephrase... Brickblocker is saying that the region is OK (PAL for Netherlands).

Wii Music come with the old 3.3 update (released in June), so NOT with the new update (released end of october 2008) that kills WADs.
The newest 3.3 update fixes the signing bug on all official IOS versions. This will currently prevent you from installing things like the Homebrew Channel, and DVDX. However on some forums it is stated that 3.3 will not allow you to run scrubbed images.
