Is it always freezing in the same spot, like on nand perms or is it always different? Do you have IOS 30 installed? I'll fix it for the next release but I can't go back to how it was in 2.6 for we must move forward, not backward, upward not forward, and always twirling, twirling, twirling towards freedom.Albatroz said:WiiMod 2.7 is freezing in applying patches if no Internet is configured.
but 2.6 is working
Yeah there is a bug in the no net changes I made, I fix it for the next release. Until then though, when it fails network it falls back to loading 30, which for you is a stub so it crashes, so install 30 with net or 2.6. In the next release I'll fix the bug so it allows you to choose the IOS as its supposed to do.Albatroz said:correctly,,, always the same spot
checking network....
then WiiMod 2.7 failed to patch them and freeze.
I cant get the main menu using a VIRGIN Wii 4.2 or 4.3.
So, IOS30 is stub version
Were you running in AHBPROT mode? If not what IOS was loaded when you entered the wad manager? Just install the one wad? During the wad install did anything unusual happen or print to the screen or did it install seemingly fine? Does it do this with any other wads? all wads? only IOS wads? Were you using the new AutoLoadOnInstall option?Albatroz said:1 more thing,,,
when I finish to install wads (loading 236) and press B to come back to Main Menu, I always get an error cause WiiMod reloads IOS3 (stub) and not present in Wiis here.
Can you take a look this too, plz?
thx
Hmm so you load IOS 236 then go to wad manager and install 40 wads in a batch install, one of which is 236, all of them seem to go through ok. And then when you go back to the main menu it freezes cause it reloads IOS 3. Is that what you're doing? How do you know its loading IOS 3, does it print some output or does it freeze on the main menu which says IOS 3 is loaded? What happens with a smaller batch of wads or even just installing the 236 by itself? Same problem?Albatroz said:no,, i was using IOS236 and not AHBPROT.
I got AHBPROT enabled but I loaded IOS236 to install all wads.
the installation (around 40 wads) didnt get any problem.
This problem to Reload IOS3 is caused in WiiMod 2.6 and 2.7 (no option enabled in wiimod.txt). So, I get AHBPROT enabled then I reload IOS236 manually (i have to configure Internet previous to use 2.7).
Im having trouble duplicating this. Could you try with less than 40 and see if you can narrow it down to a smaller group of wads or even one? Also how are you doing the batch? There are two methods, pressing 1 and marking a big group with +. Which method are you using, or does it not matter? Are you running this on s/uneek, nandemu, or is this just plain vanilla wii? I've tried installs of 40 and 80 wads and could not cause the same problem. Although it may be related to which wads are being installed or the fact that I only used 15 wads that I had lying around duplicated to 40 and 80, so really only 15 unique wads were installed.Albatroz said:yeah, I install around 40 wads but NOT 236.
after installing them, I press B to comeback to Main Menu and WiiMod reload IOS3 (no IOS3 present),, then WiiMod title becomes RED and freeze!
I know its IOS3 cause I can see in Right Upper Cornner instead IOS236
I didnt try a little pack. Bu I thinkjust 1 doenst cause problem.
Well what was in the 10 wads? Were the 10 a subset of the 40 failed? Were the 5 a subset of the 10? Or were they disjoint? I think the what is more significant to the problem than the how many, but Im not sure as I still haven't been able to replicate it.richardsito said:Thanks for this jskyboo. Will surely try this now. I've always used MMM
Glad to hear. I see no reason to still be using MMM, but if you can think of one post why here and I'll do what I can about it.
QUOTE(Albatroz @ Jul 9 2011, 08:10 PM) @jskyboo,,,
I softmod another virgin Wii today and got the same problem with IOS3 reloading.
I did this way:
1. configured Internet previous to softmod.
2. bb v2 and load WiiMod. then I installed IOS58 (wii 4.2 USA) using IOS menu
3. Apploader to run hackmii installer => HBC + bootmii
4. hbc => Wiimod (AHBPROT enabled). then I installed cIOS236.wad
5. then I reload manually IOS236
6. Wad Manager again and installed 1 wad and came back to Main Menu (fine)
7. installed 5 wads and Main Menu (fine)
8. installed 10 wads and Main Menu => error! IOS3 reloaded Bingo!!!
9. reboot, hbc, wiimod, reload 236, press 1, installed 40 wads => Bingo again!!! IOS3 reloaded
So what happens if you install those 10 in two groups of 5? Both go through no problem? Or one of them still messes up?Albatroz said:1. 10 first wads:
202,222,223,224,248,249,250,cfg,uloader,postloader

So you mean in step 7 you installed (202,222,223,224,248) and then (249,250,cfg,uloader,postloader) and that worked no problem, but when you did them all at once you had the problem? That's what I don't understand. Cause as I've said, I have installed more than 10 at once with no problem so it seems related to the wads being installed, Im just trying to narrow it down to the smallest group that causes the problem.Albatroz said:Albatroz said:7. installed 5 wads and Main Menu (fine)

as above
