To the person that linked claiming Trucha bug restorer works, it does not for me, it fails setting revision of IOS 15 to 0. Anyone else have any ideas?

When the New Nintendo Channel Released it said i needed an update to use it so i updated it and now i cant play GC Backups any more it just Reboots to the Wii Menu...

You do realize that BootMii is one possible avenue to piracy due to things like that app that lets you install WAD files with it, right? I swear man, people think it's a conspiracy or a personal insult when all they probably care about is piracy.

Ah, I think it meant the channel itself. Not the System Menu. Now, if you updated to 4.2, it comes with an update for mios, which would get rid of your cMIOS if that's what you are using.

I Didnt update yet and i updated the channel but when i updated it i tried to use it and it made me update the wii using that update screen that you see when you update the sysmenu

I Find This Funny... Nintendo's slogan is "Everyone's Game" but if it's EVERYONE GAME Why cant we have DLC in brawl And Mario Kart(Tracks and karts) to make it more unique? Why Cant we Develop Our OWN Games or Modify Games Such as SSBB? Microsoft Lets Us Develop Games and play them on their Console.. I Have their Program for It! Im just getting to want to learn C++ or C#. But 4 Now im stuck with Gamemaker 7 and DS Gamemaker... So its not 'Everyone's Game' They wont release a DVD (movie) Channel or DVD Watching Capabilities... Thats y i installed HBC in the First place! then i got into VC and Wii Ware then GC-Backups(mainly Hard-to-Find games like sonic adventure 2) now trying Wii Backups... Nintendo Doesnt Really know What they are Doing...
I mean Look at Head-Tracking they can proly work Out a Deal with The Creator(s) to release a Add-on With like a Hat like Thing that works like Head Tracking.

They're talking about exploits for installing HBC/BootMii. You still use StackSmash/Indiana Pwns for running the installer/other homebrew.

I'm proud to announce that I am now on a 4.2U that has no homebrew deletion functions and still operates with all of my trucha signed channels.

Here's what I did.....

1. I got Dop-IOS v8, the one just released. Installed a trucha patched IOS70
2. I downloaded System Menu 4.2 U with NUSD, and I modified it using the exact method that ften described in his hex editing post.
3. Launched wad manager and installed the hex edited wad.
4. Everything works properly.

I think a list of checksums for the properly edited System Menu wads should be created. For USA 4.2:

CRC32:A2D50EC8
MD5:9B2547F68AD8F71096990D9332AD948C
SHA-1:7C27C755AF4B9F2735E5021E4326CDF7033D0904

I don't have European, Japanese or Korean to test, but those capable of that should post.

I'm sure TT will work out a new installer, but I can guarantee they will have to adjust their title ID to something other than "HAXX" to get it on a virgin 4.2U system menu. And if so, there will be a lot of homebrew issues (like I had with returning to the HBC when it did not have the "HAXX" id)

Hopefully it'll all work out. Till then a successfully hex edited (that is, your MD5sum checks out with what it should be) v4.2 system menu seems like the best way to go if you want to go to 4.2. If there is a serious need for it in the future at least we know how to get there without ruining everything.

no there isnt a huge need, but its the fact the nintendo would release such a ludicrous update thats makes us have to find a way around it.

No. I just hex edited the system menu wad and installed system menu 4.2 to mock nintendo.
