So I've been wondering linux is on everything now days from computers to cell phones why not the wii but i'm not talking about a text based os I wan't to see a gui linux for wii that would be truly amazing if that happened. But my question is this, can the Wii handle it?

There allready is a Wii linux version. It's currently in early stages, but you can try it out: http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Wii_Linux
For a final version you can use Gamecube-Linux.
