Hey Everyone,

I have read many posts on Wii iso sizes and noticed that there are generally 3 sizes depending on whether it is scrammbled unscrammbled and whether Raw Dump or a different program is used. I use RawDump and ALWAYS get 4,699,979,776.

If it's 4 699 979 776 bytes, it's unscrambled.
If it's 4 700 012 544 bytes, it's unscrambled with unscrambler 0.4 which adds an extra 32 768 bytes to the file (JESUS release)
If it's 4 736 698 368 bytes, it's in raw format and must be unscrambled.

I have been given a few discs and MOST of them are 4,699,979,776 but there are a few that are:

4,700,307,456.

The game still seems to load fine in the Wii - but I was just wondering why this is a different file size to any others that have been mentioed and if it means that there coudl be something wrong with the discs. These particular discs backup fine to an iso file using ImgBurn and the file size remains the same.

Also - a final question, seen as I have created a post - is there any way of being able to tell if the dump is a PAL or US etc? I noticed that sometimes the label in ImgBurn states EUR or US but not sure how to tell otherwise.

Thanks in advance for anything information that is given

Nintendo Wii ISO size: 4.37 GB (4,699,979,776 bytes).

Nintendo Gamecube ISO size: 1.35 GB (1,459,978,240 bytes)

All Nintendo Wii and Gamecube images will be this exact byte size. If your Wii image is off by any then you have a bad dump and need to try again.

thats the standard to follow... dont worry about the other stuff...

Not true. The NTSC-U Wall-E disc is 4,700,307,456 bytes. This one was first released as standard size (4,699,979,776 bytes) and it causes the program to loop at the loading screen in a 1-player game. On this particular disc there is important data in the additional space and running the complete release works fine.

@ Fun_Z - what other games do you have that are 4,700,307,456 bytes?

@Lazycus.

The four games that are 4,700,307,456 are:

Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz
Cocoto Kart Racer - Which ImgBurn states the label to be "COCOTO KART WII US"
Marvell: Ultimate Alliance
Mercury Meltdown

All other games have always been 4,699,979,776 but I know for a fact these have always been PAL. I made an assumption that the ones mentioon ed above must have been NTSC not only because the file size differebnce but because one of them in ImgBurn states it is US....

Any further information would be appreciated as I was told they were ALL PAL only.
