The reason it will only run at 3x is because the DIlib (the thing that makes homebrew read from the DVD drive) can only read at 3x. Until someone can break that limit, Waninkoko's apploader will only be able to run at half speed.

Yes, all the games will work... THERE MAY BE SOME CRASHING IN FMV SEQUENCES. What do you expect for free? You want all the games to work, go buy it, or buy a modchip.

At this point, Waninkoko might be able to fix the read speed, he may not. Since it's not done, we won't know. It's in extreme alpha release right now.

Think of it this way... remember when Vista first came out? Or should I say Longhorn... the very first version that was released still had the XP interface, and only had some basic functions of what we now know as Vista. It's kinda like that... still so early, it won't look anything like the final version.

The apploader is like a car on the assembly line at the very beginning... right now, there's a frame, but no engine, wheels, seats, or stereo. You know it's a car because it has the shape, and in the factory, but you can't use it yet.

Wrong.

When you send then 0xD0 command (read from DVD-R disc) to the DVD drive, the DVD firmware does a read from the disc at 3x. It has nothing to do with libdi (also I don't use it).

libdi is just a library to use DVD functions + stub code that enables DVD-R functions that are disabled by default in the IOS.

3x is not a problem, the mario problem is something else as far as we can tell. also if any other beta testers are on here and have tried DVD9 version of SSBB can you post the results up?
