If I dump the games I own from now on with Waninkoko's DVD dumper, will the .iso files I get be compatible with the forthcoming backup loader ?
No, not directly at least. If you dump them, they'll be clean, unscrubbed ISOs. When the Backup Tool is released you can patch them and then burn them.

Speculation aside, these are the things I'm sure they are currently testig. And also why the release has yet to be made. God forbid anyone can't use the Mario Kart channel on their backup copy. And if the copy is pirated, then you don't deserve to use the channel. Seriously though, you can technically have every game ever made for it, and your worried about the MK Channel WAD? Hasn't that shit been dumped and can be installed via the WAD manager? I understand the concern over these minor issues, of problems which MIGHT occur, but I think Waninkoko has proved over the past year he's not a fuckin idiot, let's atleast treat him like he knows what he's doing.

ok, you didn't get the point.
np.

What point didn't I get? Why don't you tell me?

this thread is a happy thread #2 it's about love an compassion caring too I love everything around me even you lalala

On Topic- About the channels issues, when you load the mario kart channel via the game it loads it off the disc so that should be fine, however installing channels might be a problem.

you misundersthood my questions.

i know that dealing with that stuff is a minor issue.

my question was intended as:

"how does games handle the access to their channel from inside the game itself?"
in a meaning of wich is the main application to wich the control is passed or if the control is kept by the game and the channel is a sub process.

and eventually if it may cause a problem to the backup loader.

the question was also intended as informative for my own knowledge.

I'll just clear up a few things. Firstly wan has given me and linkinworm a tool to patch the iso's. This is to change them to (same iso format) but a format that the wii loader recognises. Secondly, I am getting mario kart at the moment so will be able to see if the chanel works. Don't know when this will be released, but please don't keep asking for files. Again if you dont believe it check out mine: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sVRyWXA_0Io or linkinworms: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uIzB8_F339g...feature=related videos

Will it play NTSC games on PAL consoles or do I have to patch the region as well?

Does a patched ISO still work through the normal disc channel on a modded Wii ?
No, it uses a custom file extension apparently and even if it didn't you are still patching it to be something else.

@ads1212
you say wiichess was already patched. have u tried it with any other game.
torrented iso or your own backup.

just curious as to why torrented iso would be different to standard backup iso.

Wow, the torrent joke is still going strong. LOL

the quality of n00bs these days is not what is used to be
