why is it not working, if the game is USA? could it be because of a new protection?

Maybe you're right, but still, I'm quite a big fan of Sonic games in general so I would atleast liked to have tried it before throwing it away. Guess I'll have to wait for the PAL-release.

Still think it's strange that the game boots and goes so far without any problems, up until the carchase with the robots and then it freezes at Knuckles. Tried it in 50Hz

i tried also in 50 HTZ and 60 HTZ and freeze on the first demo..PROBABLY A BAD RELEASE BUT NO NEW PROTECTION THE PS2 VERSION WORK!!!!

does skipping the freezing part doesn't help to play the game like ? Or is it really impossible to play it at all ? If it is like nights ( ntsc-u release ) we are not ready to see a proper since nights never got one .

seems like all sega releases work, ntsc-j or ntsc-u both either work between each other and with pal

Apparently you can skip the opening cutscene by pressing Start on a GC pad. That's what I've read, anyway.

I hope this is good. The first one seemed like it would have been good if they only made it possible to turn corners without slamming into walls while your opponents did magic turns leaving you in the dust.

Sonic Riders was rubbish on the xbox. Why make another one? I think we should make a petition for sega to kill off sonic on the consoles. The DS sonics have been pretty good.
