Dumpling specifically rips your games to a format that CEMU is compatible with. That's the only reason I could see someone wanting to use it. Also works good for dumping your games for modding purposesSo, I followed the guide here to dump a bunch of my games. In some places, the guide recommended using Dumpling to dump the games, so I dumped most of my games using it, including large Wii U games, onto my SD card on my Wii U. The whole process took like 8 hours.
Then, today, I go to the section about dumping Wii games, and it recommends using DumpsterU. So I download DumpsterU, and connect my Wii U's hard drive to my computer, and find out that I could have just used DumpsterU the whole time, for all of my games, and it would have taken a very small fraction of the time it took to dump to an SD card using Dumpling.
So, uh, why even use Dumpling for anything besides dumping discs? I wish the guide I had followed had just recommended DumpsterU for all cases. I'm kicking myself over the time that was wasted.
Edit: This isn't meant to be a knock on the developers of Dumpling. Obviously there's no way to get around the slow throughput of the Wii U's SD reader.
