Please, the whole of 4Chan isn't like /b/.
Saying that, I frequent it and not even /b/ is as retarded as this kid. Not as young, either.

No, they're horrible.

So go play your pokemon and be kind to enter wi-fi...

Okay then. While we do that you can go play generic fps games with a bunch of bitchy 10 year olds. Xbox live isn't worth the fee really.

Do you honestly think that my life revolves around Pokemon? Xbox suck cow nipples because for 1 thing you have to pay for the online and another thing Microsoft knew the reason why the console gets RROD and the only thing they do to fix it is remove the red light..... Yeah 'cause that'll fix it. Microsoft couldn't organise a p*** up in a brewery.

I like how this kid has a bluetooth on one ear, a headset on the other, a greasy PSP (that he loves to shove at his camera), and parents who obviously don't give a fuck.

Get your fact straight, the game (and the controller) were out almost a year after the N64 was announced (and still, the N64 was released a month before the game)

Not a fan boy, just think that if someone is going to insult another person it should go both ways. Know what I mean?

And yeah, the D-pad is horrible. Reminds me of my Genesis controller's D-pad...

Wii Cons and Pros

Cons:
The internal storage is bleak at best with only a 512 internal flash memory — definitely not the hefty storage capacity of its competitors, PS3 and Xbox 360.

The graphics are not at the level of PS3 or Xbox 360, either, only pushing a moderately better video processor made by ATI than its predecessor, the Game Cube. Don't expect to see jaw-dropping graphics, incredible cell shading, bump mapping, or any of the graphic terminologies that give some credibility to consoles performance capabilities.

Nintendo has repeatedly expressed that its unit's main purpose is to bring gaming back to the masses. Playing games in high definition at 1080p, photo realistic environments, is just not something you will get out of the Wii.

The games themselves will certainly not have the kind of graphically stunning visuals that you would expect from a next gen platform either. Wii games are being built on double-layered, 12-centimeter optical discs that don't have the storage capacity of a Blue-Ray disc, or HD for that matter.

Pros
One of the major selling points of the Wii is the price. At a MSRP of $249 (plus tax), the Wii unit will not be as burdensome as PS3 or Xbox 360. You certainly won't need to take a second mortgage out in order to buy this system.

Wii is the first console in at least a decade that includes a pack-in game. For $249, not only do you get the console, but you're getting five games in one so you can start with the gaming goodness as soon as you hook up your system.

Wii sports titles aren't going to win any awards for graphic superiority but it will win for revolutionary game play, thanks in part to the Wii remote controller. By just holding what resembles a TV remote in your hand and then waving it around like a racket or swinging it like a baseball bat, anyone can pick it up and participate. I've actually tried this in the office. We set up the Wii, loaded up the Wii sports game and started off playing tennis.

My co-workers, who are anything but gamers, are often turned off by video games because of the complexity of the controller mainly. They were quickly drawn to the Wii sports games, and some even asked to play and were able to pick up and play with very little instruction.

The Wii remote controllers are certainly changing the way games are going to be played on the Wii. Gamers can now swing, punch, dodge, throw, point, pull, etc. simply by performing those exact motions with the Wii remote control in hand.

The console is completely backwards compatible with the Game Cube, allowing you to even connect up four GC controllers and memory cards as well. So, if you've traded in your GC for a Wii now you can play all your favorite GC games on the Wii system without a hitch.

WiiConnect24 mode allows your Wii, to remain connected to the internet either wirelessly using IEEE802.11, or with a Wii LAN Adapter, even if it's powered down. This allows for your Wii system to receive updates, game info, etc. The Wii console can also communicate wirelessly to Nintendo DS.

Through this service, Wii offers downloadable access to 20 years of fan-favorite titles originally released for Nintendo 64, the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES), or the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). You can also get Sega Genesis titles and games from the TUBRO GRAPHIX16 console, as well as indie games made by developers with huge imaginations but really low budgets.

By no means will you be blown away by graphics nor will you have the savvy online support that Xbox 360 has, but you the easy pick up and play mechanic of this system might turn a few heads maybe even yours.

Xbox 360 Cons and Pros

In terms of graphics, Xbox 360 is superior to Wii, but PS3 will probably be the champion in this department. Still, Xbox 360 is no slouch. Take one look at "Gears of War" and you'll see the future of HD gaming.
Xbox 360 was the first next-generation console to be released, so it has a year's worth of games and accessories already on hand.
The Premium version of Xbox 360 sells for $399 which is $200 less than the PS3's top shelf offering.

Microsoft has released an HD-DVD drive for Xbox 360 for $199.99. So, if you want to watch your favorite movies in stunning HD, here's a good option, especially if you already have the console.
Xbox Live offers online multiplayer gaming in a nearly hassle-free manner. After the signup process, all you have to do is pop in your favorite game, connect to the service, and you're set. The service also provides a wide variety of free downloads, ranging from music videos to movie trailers to demos of upcoming games.

Starting Nov. 22, Xbox Live Marketplace will sell movies and TV shows in both standard and high definition. In other words, this is one of Microsoft's answers to iTunes. The price of these movies and shows has not been set in stone and there are still questions over how the 20 GB hard drive will be able to store memory-hogging HD content.

If you are a fan of first- and third-person shooters, Xbox 360 offers a ton of great options. "Call of Duty 3," "F.E.A.R.," "Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter," and "Prey" are all worth a look. But the cream of the crop is "Gears of War." It may not have the greatest story, but the online mode is addictive, the graphics are amazing, and the gameplay is innovative.

Call this a hunch, but if you are also planning on buying the Zune music player, expect the two Microsoft products to complement each other sometime in the future. Perhaps when Xbox Live Marketplace starts offering movies and TV shows, you'll be able to download them onto your Zune.

For those who love to rock, "Guitar Hero II" will be released sometime in early 2007. What's even better is that there is a strong likelihood that more songs will be available for purchase on Xbox Live Marketplace. So get your "Bring Extreme's 'Play With Me' To 'Guitar Hero II' " petitions ready.

One of the major criticisms of Xbox 360 is that it is geared mainly towards hardcore gamers. Casual gamers are hesitant to spend hundreds of dollars on an expensive toy they will not use regularly. The Wii will most likely fill this void due to its price and its simple, yet highly enjoyable games.

While Xbox 360 is certainly a powerful gaming system, PS3 approaches supercomputer-like performance with its Cell chip. In the long term, the PS3 will probably have more advanced games, in terms of graphics.
If you think PS3 is too expensive, Xbox 360 can be just as pricey if you decide to buy the HD-DVD drive as well.

Microsoft and game developers have started a trend where gamers can buy extra features for their games via Xbox Live Marketplace. For instance, you can purchase new quests and items for "The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion." Some gamers worry that developers will purposely remove certain elements of their games - that should be included in the release - with the idea that they can pull some extra cash by selling them on Xbox Live Marketplace.

This may be a wild guess, but expect Microsoft to put forward a higher capacity hard drive when it starts offering HD movies and TV shows on Xbox Live. So if you bought an Xbox 360 when it first came out, then recently purchased the HD-DVD drive add-on, you might have to make another purchase in order to take advantage of this service.

The console is quite loud when it is turned on, so if you're watching a DVD, you might hear a whirling sound throughout the film. The easy solution may just be to pump up the volume.

The power supply is almost the size of a brick, so while the console may look sleek and stylish, you will need to find a nice hiding place for its ugly appendage. Furthermore, the "brick" shouldn't be stuffed into a tight space or else it could overheat.

PS3 Pros and Cons

Well, it's finally here. Something the gaming community has long awaited and, unless you've have been living on the moon for the last year, you know what I am talking about.

The much awaited, much anticipated release of the next generation Sony gaming system, PlayStation 3, has arrived. The overall upgrade from PlayStation 2 to 3 is significant in terms of processing, performance and design. Sony has paid close attention to what works and what doesn't work in the gaming community.

Upon taking the unit out of the box, you notice the smooth black skin finish, and sleek design. The PS3's weight is close to 11 pounds, making it heavier than the PS2. Out of the box, all necessary A/V and power connections come with the system along with a standard Bluetooth wireless PS3 controller.

The controller connects to the PS3 wirelessly and uses a USB cable to recharge its batteries. It is very similar to the PS2 in terms of look and feel, but it's significantly lighter. The reason being Sony has eliminated the Dual Shock feature from the PS3.

Inserting a disc is similar to Apple's Macintosh computers, so no traditional tray pops out rather you feed the disc into the system. There is no traditional power button, rather it's a flat surface switch which turns the unit on once it's pressed. The main PS3 navigation interface is virtually an exact replica of the PSP's interface. Called the Xross Media Bar you can easily navigate through the interface and find where all options are. You can view photos, and MPEG files that are saved to the hard drive. Hooking up the PS3 to a LAN connection enables users to browse the Internet much to the same fashion as the PSP, with Sony's Web browser.

The revolutionary Cell Broadband Engine in the PS3 can deliver smooth performance as it is able to handle a higher workload much more easily. So what does this mean? It means much smoother transitions and virtually no slow down in frame rate. With that in mind, PS3 games are far superior graphically than its PS2 predecessor, and are faster than most PC games on the market today.

Of course one of the top selling points of the unit is its Blu-ray capabilities. So what is Blu-ray? Blu-ray discs are the next leap forward in disc technology. It provides for more storage, up to 50GB, which allows it to meet the requirements of high-definition games and movies. Essentially, it's a step up from DVDs. The Blu-ray drive featured in the PS3 will also support many of the older disc formats, including CD-ROM, CDR+W, DVD, DVD-ROM, DVD-R, and DVD+R.

There are a significant number of ventilation covers on the console to provide airflow. While testing with a sample PS3 unit, we here at GameCore did not witness any heating problems as were reported on many blogs over the summer.

Let's go through some pros about this massive system. First, it's a multimedia platform, meaning it's not just for one purpose.

Unlike other gaming systems, the PS3 uses Blu-ray Disc format which allows for massive storage and pristine picture quality. If you wanted to you can use the PS3 as an ad hoc Blu-ray movie player, as more Blu-ray movies will be hitting the market in the near future.

Likewise, the PS3 boasts its ability to link up with other Sony products, namely the PSP. You can easily link your PSP into the PS3 and exploit both of their capabilities. The hardware has been streamlined much more to today's standards by incorporating four USB slots. Numerous USB-enabled devices such as a USB keyboard are supported on the PS3. Gamers can literally plug in Flash USB jump drive and put data onto their system.

Whether you have the 20GB or 60GB platform, both units allow for massive storage of media files, most of which you can literally use on your PC. Unlike Microsoft's Xbox Live, which is a paid service, Sony plans to keep its online network free.

Now let's go through some cons. The most obvious and well-publicized is the price. Unless you're willing to take out a second mortgage on your home, the PS3 isn't going to be cheap. At a retail price of $499 for the entry level 20GB system, and games now starting at $59.99, it is a substantial increase from PS2.

And to truly enjoy the PS3, an HD capable monitor (HDCP-compliant 1080p TV) would really help deliver the graphics you want. Even though there will be 21 games available at launch, most of the titles gamers haven been waiting for are delayed.

Furthermore, the PS3 is backwards compatible, but to play with existing data from PS2 and PSOne titles you have to purchase an additional memory card adapter as the PS3 does not feature original PlayStation memory card slots. Likewise, Sony officials admit that not all PS2 and PSOne games will play properly on the PS3, only adding to the frustration of the gaming experience.

With most pre-orders gobbled up within minutes of its announcement, and only 400,000 units being available on release day in the United States, chances are most hardcore gamers will be left without a PS3. To help with demand, officials at Sony plan to ship 2 million units by March 2007.

I still don't get it, what am I paying more than $500 for?

Well, the Sony PlayStation 3 is the next generation of gaming. It's a system that can deliver updated graphics, great audio, Internet browsing capabilities, an easy interface, and much more.

The PS3 is a system that will not be obsolete 10 years down the road. The PS3 is truly an entertainment system, and not just a system that plays games. I feel that many gamers will accept the PS3 and crave its raw power. As a gamer having played the PS3, I can agree that it's worth the wait. It's just a matter of actually getting one.
