No (not sure if used bad english). I meant they made the only existing port of Street Fighter to the Master System and it was only sold in Brazil.

I was making a joke, "Brazilians" are usually shorthand for waxing in the female genital area.

One question for you: If every game company is Japanese, then how comes that we have so many Asians at School, coming directly from Phillipines, Signapore, Hong Kong, India, or even Japan?

PS: Greetings from The Netherlands.

Don't feel bad, such is life, once the 3ds is hacked i'm sure translations on more popular games will be done as they usually are.

What about EA, Activison and Ubisoft?
............ Oh well, it's not like they are as big as Nintendo, Capcom, Konami. Video game market is mostly dominated by japanese =/
EA, Activision and Ubisoft doesn't localize japanese games

Not every game company is Japanese. For example: EA, Activision are from USA and Ubisoft is from... France? (I guess)

Well, I think it's the same in every country. Lots of Chinese people come here in Argentina and mount grocery stores.

The huge migration of Asian people to others countries has nothing to do with how big or small a certain industry is, I believe is due to the fact that there is soooo many people living there! Between China and India you have 40% of the global world population! Their economies aren't big enough to support so many citizens, that's why you see them migrating to others countries. I'm not implying that China's economy isn't big (in fact, it's one of the biggest of the world), but his population it's even bigger!

PS: sorry if I misunderstood your question. Saludos desde Argentina! ;)

Although a brazilian company called TecToy (former Sega representant in Brazil) did localize, port and/or translate many titles to Master System and Mega Drive (Genesis in the USA) for the brazilian market. It even made an brazilian exclusive version of Street Fighter to the Master System.
I still have my TecToy MegaDrive
TecToy is the main reason why Sega kicked Nintendo's butt during the 90s here in south america. Ninty didn't even had representation until the N64.
The only reason why Mario is well known here is due to the Famiclones (thank you China ;))

You indeed don't understood me.
It's not that Asians are migrating to here, they come to study here, and leave afterwards.
oh sorry :P
I really don't have an answer for that... maybe college is cheaper for them in other countries .
It could be a lot of reasons, but none of them related to the gaming industry for sure.

Its not just gaming that "suffers" with Japan's localisation. I was in Japan 10 yrs ago and took a trip around electric city (akiabara) and was amazaed at the technology and gizmos i have never ever seen or heard of in the west, 10 yrs ago 5 yr old kids with mobile phones in their pens , A4 Laptops , video game arcades with machines 3ft high for the kids , i could go on and on , it was truly amazing ,the upshot is that most the stuff japan devs , stays inhouse (japan) and we get a little taster of what they feel is more globally marketable. Ya have to see it to believe it.

@NahuelDS
Actually, the right answer is: They come here to study Game Development, so it is related to the Games Industry.
By this I meant to say, your theory about "All Game Developers are Japanese (or American)" is false.

you could have started mentioning that! I thought you were talking about college in general. oh, wait.. this was a quiz? :wtf:
btw... I never said "all game devs are japanese or americans"

In Brazil it's the exact same thing, except they make establishments that we call "pastelaria" because they sell "pastel" a kind of pasta I am sure you must know.

I still have my TecToy MegaDrive

Didn't know Brasil's industry had some influence in there

Our countries surely have a lot more in common than we think. Saudações do Brasil!

First thanks to everyone for there input since my original posting I have been working on my japanese more cause I am living for a month in japan come june and for the fact that companies really do take calculated risks and sadly most production companies that fit the bill for the translations don't realize how many fans are out there for these japanese titles. and on a side note fan translations are slow and its hard on the fan translations when a series like the gundam games release a new game every year on a single platform. It makes all there work as a fan seem pointless when two or three better versions of the games wanna play come out in the time it takes them to make a single translation on a previous console generation. I have no problem learning a new language to play the games i love i just wish japanese wasn't considered one of the hardest languages to learn. http://mylanguages.org/difficult_languages.php

Sorry if this is a repeat of previous answers..too lazy to read 3 pages. The reason many games don't get localized is because the games have to be able to sell well. If the game won't appeal to the average Joe, it probably won't be localized as the game won't make enough profit, if any at all. 3DS is more family-oriented, not Love Plus oriented so the majority of localizations will be of Nintendo's innocent IPs
