I bought my N3ds 5 days ago. FW 9.0. I streetpassed my other 3ds xl fw 9.5 that has 35 panels complete. I'm using playcoin hb on my n3ds so I can have 300 coins all the time. After 7 complete puzzles I'm not getting any mark on the puzzle swap game. All other streetpasses works perfectly on the n3ds. I have 6 people in my plaza on the n3ds. Is there some restrictions for how many puzzles you can get each Week? Or any other restrictions?

You need to turn on spotpass in streetplaza and put it in sleep mode, allowing it to download the data for the new puzzles. But I believe you want to stay on 9.0 so it will probably give you the update nag.

I don't think you have to upgrade, but it will download the update in the background causing a pop up asking you to update. But I understand your fears.

But how big is the fw update? Perhaps the fw update take some longer time to download than the puzzle swap spotpass upDate. You are correct about that I don't want to have the update nagging message.

Spotpass for MiiPlaza and Spotpass for system settings are two different things. SpotPass for MiiPlaza will download an update for MiiPlaza only, not your system. Spotpass in system settings will potentially download a system update. If you want to have a NNID on your N3DS at some point you will have to accept the TOS anyway. You can still get streetpasses without a wifi connection as well.

Yes! Thanks all :) I'm still on 9.0 and got new puzzle panels! I'm going to a Japan convention this weekend so there will be hundreds of streetpasses there :)

I'm pretty sure that without spotpass turned on in system settings, it will still download the system update, but it won't download things like Youtube or things like that.

I guess it will Do that. I turned my Internet off one second after the mii plaza was updated. I guess the fw update is much bigger than the mii plaza update. I'm happy :)

Be sure to play a game before you go to the convention.

Else if you use playcoin setter, everybody you streetpass with, will see playcoinsetter as last played game (I had a few in my streetpass with that as last played game)

Thanks for the tips. But wouldn't it show Cubic ninja as the last played game?

  • NinStar @ NinStar:
are you using haxchi, tiramisu or aroma?
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    yeah
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
no, I'm asking which one of them you are using
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    aroma
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
in that case, there is no such thing as homebrew launcher for aroma
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
you have to launch your homebrews directly from the wii u menu
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
there is a plugin that display them on the wii u menu, pretty sure it is enabled by default
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    so like it doesnt exist
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    yeah
    ?
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
it doesn't exist, at least not for aroma
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    ohhhhh
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
on tiramisu you can access it by opening mii maker
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    okay
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
I don't have a wii u anymore to test it myself, but if homebrews are not visible on the wii u menu I think you can press L + R + minus to open the plugin menu, there should be an option called "homebrews on wii u menu" or something similar
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    nope
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    it is L+dpad down+ select
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
but homebrew is appearing in the home menu btw
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
    yes, now I remember it
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
then it is working, I also don't like that they did this but it is the only option you have if you are using aroma
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
i just didint know the homebrew launcher didint exist in aroma
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    thanks btw
