Why are commericals so loud?

I have surround sound and I turn it up loud enough to hear the show and when the commercials come on, I nearly end up deaf. That's why I record shows now on my DVR receiver. I am tired of going deaf...

This is why you stop paying your cable provider for the privilege to watch their commercials, and like Panzer Tactition said, simply download all the TV you need.

I asked someone who works at a TV station once, and he said it could be the sound settings on a TV, especially surround settings make commericals sound louder.

If you buy that, be sure to try it out.

My old TV has virtual surround. The volume's still loud even if it's disabled.
