Okay not really but I chose Chikorita cause Cyndaquil is ugly to me in all his evolutions and im afraid Totodile will eat me once he's fully evolved.

I picked Chikorita in Heart Gold because in the original Silver that's what Pokemon I chose. In the original Silver, Chikorita was an aesthetic choice, but had Totodile evolved into something less crocodile I would've chose him because I'm more fond of Water Pokemon.

I like Chikorita's attacks, actually. They're very balanced for my type of gameplay, and it's easy to level him/her up. The evolutions of Chikorita are also in my interest because they're cute and have great attacks......

Cute? Chikorita never had any trouble winning for me and I normaly favor dragon type's over fire so unless its charmander i'll always be picking a grass or water starter

If you can get Hoenn legendaries, then you can get Hoenn starters.

And you CAN get Hoenn legendaries. They've been confirmed.

Yeh I got myself a Totodile.

Was a toss up between him and Cyndaquil. I never really picked Chikorita any time I've played a Johto game, not that I don't like, but IDK, just liked the other two better I guess.

1. Well first off water pwns fire of course

2. At level 20, it learns ice fang, and can learn other ice moves too, and ice pwns grass type!

But the other starters are still awesome, they have other advantages.. i mean totodile still has weaknesses just like every pokemon, such as electric types..

I've noticed several other weird name quirks with HG/SS.

The berries colour are 3 lettered words like Grn or Blk. Why didn't Nintendo write the full name? I assumed it was because of coding issues because the Japanese version was only designed to put in a limited amount of characters but I never did find out the real reason.

Same reason as the "Feraligatr" problem, Black Apricorn was too long to put it in one word(and yes, it has to be with the codes)... just try to write a long name on your trainer in Silver/Gold version... Oh, and NverMltIce has the same issue

I chose totdile mainly because I am playing HG, and once I Ho-Oh is in my party, I wouldn't have a need for cyndaquil.

And chikorita sucks
