PSP + UMD in drive = dead battery.

You want to keep the drive empty.

Piano Black + 4gb MSPD = ~$235. Seems the best "bang for your buck".
It only ever spins when you first turn it on and when you start a game? If anything all it would do is shave 5 minutes of the battery.

isnt there a option to autoboot the umd and a autoboot to menu?
Yes, there is.

would it still burn my battery?

Why do you absolutely need a UMD in the drive? Pointless.

Get Piano Black + mod and put free games on there. No need for a UMD.

if he gets a bundle might as well keep it in there i guess but if he buys a piano black it seems like a waste of money to get a umd since you could buy another memory card for the same price and have more games.

I really doubt having a UMD in the drive changes anything. But really, why would you want one anyway, if you can get games for free? I guess if it's a game that takes up a lot of memory and you always wanna have it with you, but I find the UMD drive pointless otherwise.
