but it has good graphics even without 3d popping out the screen.

3D is it top feature, but the main purpose is to you know play games.

3D is helpful and it is innovation, but I am not just buying it for that.

Oh and I chose They don't realize it's not just a regular DS with 3D.

i'd say the launch lineup

i was tempted not to pre-order due to it but i'd promised myself i would pick one up on launch day so i gave in and pre-ordered after all when nintendo announced the australian price (which was surprisingly $349 instead of $399)

Its overpriced, outdated hardware built on a worthless gimmick.

The launch line-up is also terrible.

That deferentially trolling.

I can't believe you calling this overprice and outdated and the 3D just a gimmick! That crazy talk.

3D was a gimmick designed and promoted by television manufacturers to sell more units.

Nintendo just happened to jump on that bandwagon. It's a dead-end technology with no real benefit.

I don't know about overpriced, but other than the 3D screen the rest of the hardware IS "outdated" already. Nintendo doesn't exactly use cutting-edge shit.

And most people agree the launch lineup sucks.

I didn't say anything about that, but I hope people are liking the launch window at least.

Every review I've read says the 3D varies from being "sort of okay" to "absolutely terrible and worthless." That doesn't seem like a gimmick worth building and marketing platform around.

It will, of course, be successful, because consumers are still in the "hard on for 3D" state.

who gives a shit? as long as it brings me joy then it'll be worth every cent (And from past experience with nintendo handhelds, i suspect it will)

I'm talking about review from tempers themselves and I read the 3D was incredible and from other reviews.

What reviews are you reading?

I could care less if the 3d works or not...I love Nintendo games....and I need to buy the 3ds to play the newer ones....seems like a logical purchase to me

People who are disappointed that Nintendo willingly pushes out inferior hardware because they know it will sell anyways?

I'm not saying its a bad product, but it could have been much better if they weren't trying to capitalize on profits per unit.

"reputable" reviews like Ign's?

Well, I kinda agree with the launch titles, the only good one is Super Street Fighter 3D. But when the awesome games come out in summer I'm totally getting it.
even then, ssf4 isn't even really a "must-have" game... just a good game.
wish ninty could have gotten OoT ready in time for launch though...

If they on launch sold 3DS + a special edition with 3DS+Ocarina of time for maybe a little higher price i would be happy and so would nintendo since they would sell like hell of that Special edition

a gold one with a triforce logo where the ds logo is on the ds lite, that would be worth paying double for

Let's face it, the launch line up isn't so great and most reviews say the 3D isn't so great either (yes, even IGN). If the 3DS wasn't able to play DS games, I'd probably hold off on buying one until there were better games. But how would anyone know if the price would be cheaper/the same if Nintendo decided to use better hardware and ditched the 3D screen? To me, it'd seem like a reason for Nintendo to up the price even more.

Hopefully the 3DS delivers great software and a fun gaming experience like the DS has. Also, so people would stop bitching about the system as a whole, or no one will care about the bitching because Nintendo will be selling systems at the end of the day no matter what.
