Gateway soon to support Multirom ! So I guess getting 64GB miscrosd is GREAT idea now !

Just a thought ;)

32GB SanDisk Ultra class 10 should work. Although the class isn't very important for the Gateway (it only displays writing speed; not reading).
64GB MicroSDXC will probably work but it's very likely that you have to formate it first.

nobody having a 64GB microsdx to test ? ;)
because i am not sure it will work ....

A poster from MaxConsole forums stated that he had used a class 10 64gb microSD on the Gateway Red Cart with no problems but the Blue Cart was unable to read the same microSD.

Hey guys,
I'll soon be getting a Gateway, and since I have DSTwo I'm not using that often, I thought of using its microSD instead of buying a new one.
It's a Kingston 8GB class 6, will it be fast enough or should I buy a new one anyway?

It should be fine.

Mine is kingston 8gb class 4 and the only game I have played yet , smt iv , works flawlessly , dunno if there will be other games which can be slower

I'm buying a new Micro SD Card from amazon next week and need to know a bit of info! :)

Now Multirom is on the horizon what card should I get?, should I look at 64GB now or even bigger, do they even work on Gateway?. What make is the best to use for reliability for the red GW card, not bothered about the blue one? I have bought Kingston in the past for my DSTwo Supercard but the cards seem to develop a memory fault and you carnt copy files on to them they just block out so I am having a wide birth on Kingston.

Thanks for reply spiderben25. So you think Transcend is a good reliable make to buy. So GW does not support above 32GB at the moment until an update arrives, do you think that XDHC (did you mean SDXC support not XDHC?, link below of card) support will be in the next update to support multirom for more room?, cause in that case yes I shall wait. I will get a 64GB instead but a Transcend model and wait for a while. Thanks :)

I thought this one to buy when it becomes available in next update if they confirm more room, I would like to carry up to at least 15 roms on one card:-

There are plenty of possible reasons. Provide more information.

Your 16gb could be a fake, it could be corrupted, your roms might not have copied properly, you might have formatted it wrongly.

i think that's not fake (because i have buy that from trusted shop) . also i think i have copied roms properly .
i have also tested with FAT32 and exFAT
also games works with that class 4 ram (4gb) but with this ADATA calss 10 16 gb , i see no games found error

thanks a lot

i have formatted that microsd (ADATA 16gb class 10) via SDFormatter , now that works good with gateway 3ds .
thanks

I have both the Evo ones and the older class 10 ones. None of them have ever given me problems for my cameras, consoles, and the like. Were sandisk and other brands have issues they have continued to just work. They can be a tad more expensive then say, sandisk but to me, it's worth it. They make good SSDs so I would hope their other flash based memory works just as well.

That is most likely because a microSDX 64gb cards come formatted as exFat which a DS card most certainly won't read. The same 64gb card formatted in fat32 should work in a DS . Just guessing but I know people have used 64gb cards in the Wii with fat32 and reported them working.

Most (not total crap or knockoff) microSD seem to work.....I have a crap load of cards and almost all of them have worked

1. Adata 4gb Class 6 - Raw roms worked fine
2. Adata 16gb Class 6 -multi-rom with fat32
3. Wintec 4GB Class 4 - Raw roms
3. Verbatim 8gb Class 4 - Raw
4. Toshiba 32gb Class 10 - multi-rom Exfat
5. Samsung 16gb Class 6 - multi-rom fat32 (this card is really fast, faster than most class 10 with 13mb write speed)
6. Some shit 2gb unmarked old ass card from an old Treo800 - Raw rom worked fine even NSMB

When using Cart 1 (eeprom) save games the write speed shouldn't matter as nothing is being written to the miscroSD with Gateway....this is not the case with Nand saved games like Pokémon/AC/eShop vC. I had more problems with my MT card and Nand games until I went with that 16gb Samsung which was my fastest card. Unfortunately the class rating isn't always accurate. Those Adata 4gb cards I have are considerably faster than the adata 16gb even though they are both rated class 6.

Also if you are in the USA it is really hard to beat newegg.com for flash memory. They run deals all the time, they often have free shipping and no tax for most states and they are fast. I got that 32gb card for $16 and I have already seen 64gb cards for $30. Really 32GB is a lot of space as with rom trimming I think I have like 35 games on there.........that's enough for one long ass road trip. The one good thing though is if you buy it at a retail big box it will be easy enough to take back if your Gateway/MT doesn't like it.
