So i haven't used WiiU USB Helper in a while and I turn it on today to discover this new Game Cube feature. So I prepared my SD card and downloaded Nintendont and the Nintendont forwarder via USB Helper. I also downloaded Luigis Mansion and injected the ISO via the steps.

So my next steps will be using Wup Installer to installer Nintendont and the channel forwarder. Then I will install the Luigi Mansion game via Wup Installer that was created by USB Helper.

My question is where do I install the Game Cube games? Can they be installed on my USB hard drive with my other Wii U games or should I install the Game Cube games on my SD card only?

Just double checking before I screw things up.

Thanks!

If you're just installing the Nintendont channel, the gamecube games have to be stored on your SD card. If however you're installing individual GameCube games that were injected into Wii VC titles, then these GameCube games can be installed either directly you internal memory of the Wii U or your USB hard drive.

I have my favorite GC games installed individually and then the Nintendont chanel installed as well to access my less frequently played GC games from my SD card.

Ahhhh... So if I install an injected GameCube game then I won't have to launch the Nintendont program to play? I can just launch the game directly?

I do still need to install Nintendont via Wup Installer to my USB Hard drive correct?

What is Nintendong Cabell?

Thanks again!

I recently installed a few games using USB Helper. I created the installable file using an ISO and installed the game via WUP Installer. Only problem is, when I launch the game, it loads the splash screen, the Wii logo comes up and then the system resets. I am using Mocha CFW on Rednand. Any ideas?

Thanks for the info. Pretty sweet that the game cube games will work just like any other installed game on my USB drive. Looking forward to playing Sunshine and Mansion again.

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way

    For your R4
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
It's old but it's the best firmware out for DS stuff
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
it says it only works for the original R4, R4i Gold (r4ids.cn), R4iDSN (r4idsn.com) and Acekard R.P.G.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    nvm it does support mine

Just give it a try, but honestly if you have a 3DS you can play DS games without a card just off the internal SD card
