I am learning about all of this too and have a few questions

I don't think it was answered, how does loading multiple roms work?
is there a menu when you first flip on the ds where you can select the game you want the ds to load?

And what is this talk of buying a flash card off of amazon, do you need both the R4 card and a flash card?
or is it not necessary if you buy something like this

You will need a flash card for example R4ds, Acekard, m3 simply, cyclods etc. and a memory card which is used in mobiles phones called Micro sd card. The games and homebrew apps are all stored in the micro sd card.

I still don't get it >.>, assuming I have the rom already downloaded onto my PC, what is the process I will go through to play it on the ds?

well, with the r4, you copy the firmware to the micro sd card, then copy the .nds file over, and put it in the r4, then turn on your ds and it comes up with the loader, and you can then choose your rom

I see, I thought the r4 card had storage capabilities itself, so I was thinking 'why do I need to buy a card to store games on when the r4 can already do that?' but thats not the case, the r4 simply allows the ds to boot up whatever card you place in it.
