Why couldn't you just say "It's not telling you to do anything. That's a commit/version/changelog message saying what's new in that version." Instead of being condescending?
Don't expect too much. Really explaining something and answering specific questions is not within the scope of the usual lines like "Follow the guide", "Update to latest version", "Buy proper flashcart nds-card/575"

Good luck with Soundhax.

If Soundhax method fails you can update and try Seedminer afterwards.

Good luck and have fun!

Thanks for some empathy! Towards the end, it seemed quite purposefully obtuse. Lucky someone else stepped in haha

Working on softmodding a 3DS running 2.1.0-4E and https://github.com/hax0kartik/pre9otherapp/releases says to "Use usr2arm9ldr to support pre 4.0 firmwares."

Unfortunately, I can't find usr2arm9ldr and 3ds.hacks.guide says to get the the latest release of pre9otherapp (the .bin file corresponding to your firmware version), which points to the latest version which doesn't delineate between firmware versions.

I was going to use an older .bin, but https://gbatemp.net/threads/am-i-bricked.480331/page-2 seems to have bricked their 3ds by using the wrong .bin

But I think it's already built in to pre9otherapp. The release note is a bit unclear though so I understand the confusion.

My LORD I can not emphasise how easy it was to softmod, then upgrade firmware instead of messing around with Seedminer. Currently exporting SysNAND to SD, which will be backed up straight away on my Google Drive @KleinesSinchen haha

I get why you said that.

But seedminer is done in less than 20 minutes when in the latest current firmware.

I really think it would have been easier had you updated to the latest firmware and then followed the seedminer guide.

Good for you, anyway. One way or another is fine as long as you got Homebrew installed.

Soundhax is much easier.
