You joke but it is part of the arsenal. If someone posts a picture I will look for the plants (that is a walnut tree in mine by the way) and animals/insects/birds (see attached picture) as some of those can be surprisingly small ranges that people don't know enough to avoid, as well as unique geographical identifiers and directional identifiers. If I already have an idea of where it is then I can also narrow things down there, or try to find wallpaper on street view, with some brute force.



Granted it was all far nicer before sites routinely stripped exif data that almost invariably included GPS.
