Gaming When is the Big 3DS Update???

Well, Nintendo's Developer Conference is scheduled for the 17th, and one of the key features to be discussed is "Nintendo 3DS's new e-Shop." My take: we shouldn't expect the update anytime before the conference.

As an aside, other key features to be discussed that stuck out to me were:

-Online Matchmaking
-Friend Presence
-Anti-piracy

...among other things.

It's part of Nintendo's itinerary for the conference. I assume they plan on giving developers some type of overview about how they plan on combating piracy on 3DS. And as I said, it was...an aside.

I heard around 29th, but that can be debated as we want it sooner, but i doubt it will be released much earlier than that (kinda like Sony's promises about PSN being up before then...)

Nintendo announced today that the long awaited e-Shop and Internet Browser firmware update for the 3DS will be released on June 7. The update had been previously announced for the end of May.

Although Nintendo did not share details on what exactly will be included in the update, the company's notice today specifically mentioned the e-Shop and Internet Browser, two areas that had been previously promised.

The e-Shop is expected to give players access to downloadable "3DS Ware" games and Virtual Console titles. An exact lineup for this has yet to be announced, but Capcom has said that a paid Mega Man Legends 3 demo will be among the launch titles.
