Well, Nintendo's Developer Conference is scheduled for the 17th, and one of the key features to be discussed is "Nintendo 3DS's new e-Shop." My take: we shouldn't expect the update anytime before the conference.

As an aside, other key features to be discussed that stuck out to me were:

-Online Matchmaking
-Friend Presence
-Anti-piracy

...among other things.
Well, there's no need to talk about this. Not at the current situation.

It's part of Nintendo's itinerary for the conference. I assume they plan on giving developers some type of overview about how they plan on combating piracy on 3DS. And as I said, it was...an aside.

I've been checking everyday hoping I get lucky but I guess I'll have to wait some more. I just wanna try out the Internet Browser and e-shop already.

Apparently, the update won't be happening in May at all.

Nintendo announced today that the long awaited e-Shop and Internet Browser firmware update for the 3DS will be released on June 7. The update had been previously announced for the end of May.

Although Nintendo did not share details on what exactly will be included in the update, the company's notice today specifically mentioned the e-Shop and Internet Browser, two areas that had been previously promised.

The e-Shop is expected to give players access to downloadable "3DS Ware" games and Virtual Console titles. An exact lineup for this has yet to be announced, but Capcom has said that a paid Mega Man Legends 3 demo will be among the launch titles.

And the release date of OoT? People won't know what to do that day. They can either play OoT, browse the eShop, or watch/attend the E3 Conference. I know what I'll be doing, since I'm in Australia (and as such will get the eShop late...)...

Uuuh, OoT isn't being release until 6/19. Don't know what world you're living in.

It'd be pretty sweet if they added a streaming channel so we could watch E3 Live, from our 3DS'.
