I usually just use the home-wifi which is significantly slower, but fast enough. This is my father's wired connection for work use.

Decent, I guess.
My down speed actually isn't 17 Mbps.
It's because of SpeedBoost. SpeedBoost gives you a 5 to 20 second burst of downloading speed by temporarily increasing your available bandwidth.
Just did another speed test. Got 10.44Mb/s down and 503.9kb/s up.

Went from a 3 megabit DSL line to a 30 megabit cable modem line after moving from an apartment to a house and we couldn't get DSL here. 10x speed FTW! Well.....the download speed anyway. Upload improved by only about 20KB per second.
