I would like to update my switch to the latest firmware, namely 9.0.0 but would like to do so without burning the eFuses. Now of course I would opt for the ChoiDujourNX method but unfortunately the 9.0.0 firmware files are not roaming in the wild anywhere on the internet, so official updating is the only means at the moment.
Before I'll run short of patience, I'd like to know something (I'm sorry if it had been addressed before). Do the current builds of Hekate and atmosphere keep autoRCM on whilst the switch is updating? are the number of fuses intact after the update finishes?
my current number of burnt fuses is 9 which i hope to keep then at that forever. Am I safe to update through system settings or not?
if possible, how do I extract the update files from the supernag?

If you want to preserve your fuse then update via ChoidujourNX with AutoRCM enable, there isn't really a big benefit of being on 9.0.0 at the moment, all my modded unit is either on 8.0.1 or 8.1.0. By Standard when you update via ChoidujourNX it preserve your fuse if autoRCM is enable, I would recommend setting up like Incognito and make a backup of the prod.info, if you need to find firmware file you can look at darthsternie.

what do you think the chances of a total homebrew ban might be now in the US since the hbc debacle

Wew I'll be getting my car back today. One of the heater core hoses my mechanic replaced last time blew off. So either it wasn't locked in place fully, or the barb on the heater core is bad. Gotta see if this ends up happening again now.
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@chrisrlink, 0% chance. Sony/MS/Ninty already forbid it, doesn't matter. Zero reason for the Trump admin to care about it enough to write legistlation for it as it does nothing to further the Trump admin's goals.

    steel band around it
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@DinohScene, it's one of those stupid push on and twist to lock plastic connectors that modern manufacturers love to use :( not just a simple hose barb and hose
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@chrisrlink, Don't think anything will come out of it, and yes, anyone will find a way around whatever is banned.
  • DinohScene @ DinohScene:
    disgusting! jankily bypass it
