so im using haxchi via spirt tracks to launch my patched fw,
but i also have cbhc on my 4gb sd, whats the difference and which one should i be using?

i also would like to know is a 64gb sd is really needed for the emu nand thing renand i thing its called, on a 32gb console.

Coldboothaxchi CBHC is just loading custom firmware from the start of powering your system instead of standard haxchi which needs to be loaded from your home menu. :P

REDNAND is basically depenant on your filesize of the internal storage, wii u comes with either 8GB or 32GB, so you need double the file size to compensate. 16GB or 64 GB for each one. Is just the replacement internal storage of the system on the sd card.

so to boot right into the fw i can use cbhc to skip doing it manually?

That is the intention of the coldboot haxchi which is why is called coldboot Lol. Coldboot = From the starting phase of power on.

Honestly after haxchi I did nothing else cause it was enough. Sure it takes some extra time after boot to load, but when you use the gamepad's quick menu at boot, the time isn't as much to me from the time of booting to cfw. Honestly I don't use the haxchi often since I mostly use wii u for web browser videos or just play my disc games, hardly much else to do besides piracy/emulators, but I rather use the v wii mode homebrew emulators even if i can't use gamepad. :P

i use the hdd on most of my consoles cause i hate using discs i rarely buy disc games if i can help it just makes it eaiser to get onto retroarch on wiiu and ofc course i like to be able to dump my saves to use on cemu for amiibo spoofing for content (breath of the wild).

anyways your answers helped a great deal thanks very much :)

CEMU should have tutorials for that, you could find one on youtube about using game dumps/saves on cemu. As for retroarch, honestly you may have to get answers from others. I don't use retroarch on my wii u, i don't use it often to be honest, The emulators on vwii have worked for me so far and still use them. Genesis plus gx plays all sega, gamegear, master system and sega cd games with flawless work, and has nice gui, as well as using my wii u pro controller, snes9xgx, fceugx, and vbagx, all also work well. I was waiting for some ports of them to wii u but only retroarch exist on the wii u homebrew emulators.

i already have retro arch and save dumping working i was curious about the rednand and cbhc just installed it, you should check out the hid to vpad, i been using that to use my xbox 360 controller on my wii u as a pro controller, makes playing botw so much nicer
