Hardware What's that port on the bottom of the gamepad for?

The one between the contacts for the charging cradle. Anything actually attach to that or is it just one of those mysterious "future use" things that probably won't ever get used?

I do not think that port on the Vita will ever be used as the PSVita Slim model that was released in Japan, has no such port anymore.
in fact, the only ports on the slim are the MicroUSB and headphone jack.

Wow, I have trouble mentally picturing such a thing with such a large controller.

I didn't know the Vita had such a port, but I remember all the old Nintendo systems had them. Of course in Japan they usually got used but not elsewhere.

The Uboost? That uses the contact points for the charging cradle, not the port I'm talking about, which is inbetween those contacts.

i think that's where the battery goes. dunno really and i can't look myself my gamepad has a cover on it.

I think the screw thing is for a stand, similar to a tripod.

The Uboost does use that screw thing to keep it from falling off the pad.
