Hard to see but on the gamepad itself one of the pins in the charging ports seem to be bended:

Not sure which of the two is bended but I'm pretty dure they should be parallel, so both pins make contact to the charging cable.
Try to see which one is bended with your bare eyes, then grab a small needle or something and try to bend the wrong one back into position. This might be enough to give it contact and as such charge again.

//EDIT: Also double check the charging cable. Might be cause of bad angle but I can't see any metal contacts on it... There should be two contacts corresponding to the two of the gamepads charging port through. If they are really gone cause of wear and tear you need a new charging cable.

//EDIT²: And don't use the charging stand: The contacts there and on the gamepad tend to get dirty and/or rusty, preventing charging. Always connect the charger directly to the gamepad w/o a middle man.

sorry about the picture angle like i said i dont know how to take actually good photos of small things but yes those contacts are in fact there. althought difficult to see they seem...black???
ok so with a few small pins I started to carefully maneuver around the pins until the looked like they lined up with the connectors in the cord but after a few seconds I noticed that both were bent downwards. here's a crude "sketch" of that:

bro got scoliosis.
anyway I tried to manuever it back in posistion upwards but after i found out i couldnt i just did my best to make the pins touch the connecter and yet...no dice. should I give up or is there another solution

Black contacts are scratches through the hard gold, through the soft gold under it and finally reaching the nickel which oxidises black. So the contacts are heavily oxidised/rusted, the protecting gold probably completely off... You need a new charging cable.

well its better than getting a whole new gamepad at least, I heard those are crazy expensive or at least used to be, thanks for your help

ah well, time to say goodbye to a member of the family, and whats a more manly/honerable burial than death by chainsaw.
