Trying to show off muscles even though they might be close to non-existant
Imaginary lats syndrome (ILS) is a real and hilarious condition.
Anyway I remember a few years ago one of the so called dating applications (pro tip software/services wants its users coming back, not being taken off the market, rather the opposite to dating) did an April fools or something where they mentioned adding height verification. Similarly anywhere where height is a selection on such products then it does skew higher/have a decided cut off. Some men have figured this out and adjust accordingly; thick sole shoes/lifts, styling hair up and in some particularly crazy cases getting bones broken and extended to appear as some gangly creature of myth. Surgery can also insert silicone to induce fake muscles, and remove fat that people don't want to lose naturally. I would have negative things to say about all muscles, no cardio but that is probably a different discussion.
Pretending to have cash is also a fun one. Can be anything from finding fancy clothes in thrift/charity stores, costume jewellery, owning multiple phones to appear busy/desired*, cheap drinks in expensive drink bottles, fixing up wrecked fancy cars (though that might also speak to some skills underneath it all), renting/leasing fancy cars... to actually financing a failing company with more and more debt (makes for some particularly hilarious cases when it all comes crashing down because the limit is reached or there is some financial downturn and the incompetent gold diggers they attract get thrust back into the real world at age 40 with no skills and no money -- revenue is basically meaningless so even if you can't be bothered to do future projections for it is usually real estate it is all about those annual profits and debt ratios).
*inheriting a bunch of money, lottery win, turbo nerd that was in a startup that made it, insurance payout... can certainly get you one to use you for it but having 20 people also monied and with connections having you on call to sort problems for them is the real deal.
Pretending to be hard. Fake military service, fake service within the military (basic training and ride a desk for 4 years in a POG** role without deployment does not a special forces ninja make), ditto police (though they at least usually force people to be patrol/beat for a couple of years before becoming some form of specialist that does not have to get into fisticuffs), weapons and martial arts to a lesser extent but still play a role.
**persons other than grunts.
Fake education. Bachelors required, masters preferred (phd presumably orgasmic) does seem to be a thing among some ladies as well as clueless HR types.
Pretending to be a widow and pretending to be in a relationship. Singledom is not as bad for men as it is for women approaching and beyond the age of 30 but some consider it a red flag, being single not because you are not desirable or a player but instead your doting wife/fiance/girlfriend lost a game of beat the bus, lost to cancer or died in a horrific cooking stove accident has notable effects when experimentally tested. Likewise those that struggled to get into a relationship for some time have often remarked how many girls show interest once they are in one (women using approval of other women that this one is safe), and street interviews/sales also note engagement goes up when a lady is part of the team rather than big scary man all by himself so there are options to fake that.
Short version. Women by and large respond to security and provisioning. There and biological and sociological (strong tall brute is fun, strong brute that is smart and diligent enough to make tools as well and with/commands a tribe to back him... oh yeah) markers of such a thing, both of which can be faked and would be the equivalent of a woman using makeup to hide age (takes longer and is riskier for older women to have kids, go for younger where you can), fake fertility (red is a sign of arousal, what colours are most lipsticks and blush?), parasite infection (unblemished skin is a sign of health, also postulated to be why some find backless dresses so alluring), asymmetry (sign of inbreeding and genetic mutations gone wrong) and more extreme methods to showcase fat percentage (has enough fat to feed my babies milk when food is a bit scarce rather than having them starve, distributions of which do vary between races -- fat all over and around organs is good in cold Europe where sticking it all on your arse avoids overheating in hot Africa and presumably still influences attraction metrics to this day, though equally overly heavy works against them and that is a rather large percentage of the population which is why when that height verification was countered with weight verification all hell broke loose).
