So I softmod and everything works perfectly, so do I still need the sd card in the wii? if not, can i delete the contents on the sd card (i have the files backup on my computer)?

Also i have transferred my games using wiifusion (mac) to my external hdd in wbfs format, can i transfer my games to my friend's external hdd from my external hdd or must I keep the games on my computer to transfer to his using wiifusion again?

thanks

you need to keep the files on the SD card i believe as thats there the initial booting of channels is done
and indeed BootMii

SD cards are cheap so if you need to use that one buy a cheap 2GB for a few bucks

If you have your NAND and whatnot backed up on your PC or whatever yeah you can delete stuff off it and not use it. I have my old 2GB SD card in the cupboard but it just has the NAND and BootMii files on it if I ever need them, now I use a 32GB SDHC card for all my homebrew.

If you're using a USB then no you don't need the SD card inserted.

Does that mean the sd card has to be in the wii at all times?

i leave mine in at all times, i only store the games on my USB external
easyier to add apps and change settings without having the lug a hdd to the pc
believe its needed for other apps as well

guess its up to personal prefence
