Your HBC, cIOS and Boot2 will stay intact. I find 4.2 slicker looking and slightly faster than 3.2 with the added bonus of an SD Menu allowing you to have access to 100+ Wiiware/VC titles and SDHC support up to 32gb
No its not. Depending on the version of HBC, it may be removed.QUOTE said:is this true so all I have to do to upgrade from 3.2U to 4.2U and all of my HBC, cIOS's and Boot2 will stay the same
techboy said:No its not. Officially updating to 4.2 will:
* Upgrade boot2 to v4
* Remove all cIOSes except IOS202 and IOS250.
* Delete outdated HBCs with the HAXX title ID, and v1 of DVDX.
* Remove bootmii as boot2.
If you are determined to update, follow the "Modify Any Wii" guide in the stickies. It includes a safe update (no boot2v4) to 4.2, plus the necessary hacking. It should work fine on a hacked console, but as always, no guarantees when it comes to modding. I personally have not used the guide since it was updated to use DOP-IOS MOD for everything.
Same here been on 4.1e and 4.2e always downgraded to 4.0e just it plays every thing I want it to play and don't really use the sd card menuRetrievil said:I'm hangin on SM4.0 with cios rev10. I'm lazy and will only update when I run into something that doesn't work with my existing setup.
So far every latest game works, I can run dual layer discs without hermes, and I have SDHC support. Why fix what isn't broken?
