Hacking What NEVER EVER EVER TO DO ON DSi

Ok so i have one of the launch DSi's and Have been loving it so far (The main resaon i upgrade is becuz my ds lite had a busted screen /LR didnt work i could make it work by sometimes blowing spit in between the lr buttons) anyways After several months of heavy usage my R button no longer seemed to respond well So i thought to myself lets try blowing on it so i did and it seemed to work i was jamming to my music and R worked for a While the thing was plugged in and all the sudden Boom Shuts off turn it back on turns off after about 10 secs repeat until it just flashes a white screen b4 turning off about 20 minutes later it works fine good as new Scared me half to death i was online filling out a nintendo Factory Mantinence form when i tried it agin THANK god SO NEVER EVER EVER BLOW ON THE LR BUTTONS IF THEY DONT WORK!!!!

Next time instead of blowing into it get a can of compressed air and put one of the extender straws on and that should work better than blowing into the DSi which may also include spit.

But in all seriousness, you should avoid having any liquid substance enter any electronic area of your DSi, or any electronic for that matter. Water is highly conductive and can short circuit and then burn out electronics in a snap.

For electronics, never blow with your mouth. You risk getting saliva onto the components, and sometimes it's hard to control that. If you have access to a small compressor, use that. I wouldn't recommend compressed air because there are chemicals in it that can cause condensation. I have a small hobby compressor that I use to blow out all my electronics, and since it doesn't build up any liquid, I can safely blow out the insides as long as I want.

Yeah, I don't think just blowing on your R button would cause your DS to malfunction. These game electronics aren't that sensitive. I've eaten chili dogs while opening up and fixing a RROD 360. These machines (especially Nintendo's stuff, for the most part) are built tougher than that.
