I'm using a poll and only 3 OS choices simply because these are the 3 main OS people use and I dont want to make an essential list(even though I really want to)

No problem, it happens all the time. Every few months or so you see the same topics spawn up, things like 'Best game ever', 'Favourite NDS game ever', 'Top 10 NDS games', ..... You don't even want to know how many topics the 'Temp has with the exact same (useless and subjective) information.

favorite is linux.
though alot of programs (read: games) can't be played on linux, so i use windows more

Linux, and if it was everyone else's favorite, the world would be a better place, because better support for a better OS just makes sense.

Thank money and marketing campaigns, people! Intelligence has no place in a world of monetary assumption.

Linux

So much awesomeness.

People say macs are easy to use but Ubuntu is way easier.

Windows is great but I still like Linux more because of customization where windows is rigid

Windows. Its just what I'm used to.
I do have Ubuntu on my computer but rarely use it (mainly because Flash is glitching out in it for some reason) so yeah...

Windows just has all the programs I need so its what I use

I use Win 7 the most, since a lot of programs I use don't have decent equivalents.

I generally prefer BSD to all other OSs though I'm currently use Arch on my netbook as the second OS.

I hope you're no suggesting that the only reason I use Windows is because I have been brainwashed in some way. Having used all of the above, I find windows easiest to use, even though I grew up using an Amiga, which has more in common with MacOS. Don't even get me started on the 'security features' of the various Linux distros.

No, man, I mean that support for it is low because of the initial Windows user base. So now because the majority of software runs on Windows (due to monetary issues, not technical issues) we're forced to use it for certain programs. It is only because it is popular that it continues to be supported more, even though Linux is the technically superior OS.
