ROM Hack What is a ".bclan" file?

Hello all,

I've been poking around in the GARCs of Alpha Sapphire recently. In one of the GARCs (0/0/0) there were some DARCs which I unpacked and found 3 different types of files: .bclim (images), .bclyt (layout), and .bclan. I can't find anything that seems to be able to view them (Every File Explorer does not open them). Judging by the extension, I think it might be something to do with animation files (bclim = image, bclyt = layout, so bclan might be animation?), but I'm not too sure.

Anyone know anything about these files?

Yes. BCLAN files contain animations. (Binary Ctr Layout ANimation)

I thought so. Is there any way to view/edit their contents? I'm guessing probably not at the moment.

Currently not, but their format is not very difficult and is very similar to the wii brlan files.

Does this mean you have plans on adding something like this to every file explorer?
