Hacking What Guide Should I Use For Hacking Wii to use the Latest USB Loader..

I just found out about being able to hack to the Wii to play backups off a USB HDD..
It seems there is a lot of info around on how to hack the Wii to install HomeBrew in such.. kinda a lil bit overwhelmed

Can someone please point me to the Guides that will Help me hack my Wii to Install the Latest Greatest Widely Used HomeBrew + USB Game Loader..??

I have a ( Wii - 3.1U ) + ( Official Wii White 2GB SD Card )
is it possible to SoftMod my Wii without the need for that Zelda Twilight Game or any other game..??
What Should I do Next..??

I just did this "Wii Softmodding for Dummies V4 - All in one (tutorial and files)"

Everything seemed to work smoothly..
so now im just wondering if the files in that package were up to date, becuz it was "Release 4.1 (May 26th, 2009)"

Now that i got everything up an running how would i go about staying on top of the latest files & updates in shizz to stay with the main flow of the majority of the wii hackers in here..??
