What game is this?

I bought a cart used at a swap meet once in the mid-to-late-80's and this VCS (2600) cartridge had no markings and/or stickers. It was a 1st person "get to the end" maze game where an overhead map of the maze was displayed when you held down the big red button. There were evil pac-man looking things that patrolled the maze and would end your turn by "eating you." First one would chase you around, then two, etc. Although the "baddies" were first visible on the "map," they eventually became invisible on the map as the levels grew harder... ... I think?!?!? WTH is it?!?!?!

I would suggest you get a good VCS emulator like PCAE, find yourself a source of roms and start checking - you'll be able to rule out a lot of games just by their titles or cartridge art.

It does sound a little like a SNES game called Faceball 2000.
