What does the medals under your name mean?

Currently, I have 3 medals under my name. I've seen others with more posts and less medals. It apparently doesn't have anything to do with when you registered or how many posts you have......so what does it signify?

I'm just curious because I jumped from 1 to 3 medals and I don't know why.

I think it's your post/day rating I'm not sure.

It depends on post count and title. You get green striped medals until you reach 1000 posts, then you get one gold-and-red-striped medal. Then you collect those until you reach... I don't know.

Board mods, global mods, admins, forum founders and such get their custom titles and custom ribboned medals. (Board mod gets a blue ribboned medal, not sure about the rest.)

It's how many posts you have. After 5 green medals, the next step is 1 orange medal, then 2 orange, and so forth.

It's how many man you saved, how many kills you have, and how many General's ass you kissed to earn them. Lol, just kidding, that's only how it works in my day-time job. It's a ranking system for hierarchy. The more stripes you have the more GBAtempy you are, once you have red ones, you get saluted and get called "Sir". Seriously... this system is a little miltary, medals for rank and the moderators have a symbol for Colonel.
