In 3 days, I will finally turn 18 years old. I'm excited for what's in store for me. But I haven't had a very fun birthday since my 14th. Reasons are that I have no relatives here in London except for my mum. Most of my friends went on holiday outside London (and how lucky they are to manage to get out of this wasteland that is East Ham) so there will be no party for me. So what I'm planning to do is to go to Nando's with my mum and some other friends and just hang out and go shopping. It's really OK for me since I am not the type of guy that sets up parties.

So, may I ask what happened on your 18th? Or if you're about to turn 18, what are your plans?

EDIT: My mum unexpectedly gave me a laptop as a birthday present in advance, since she thought I would need it for university.

I have no recollection of my 18th birthday, but I may have gotten drunk with a friend. If it wasn't that, then the reason I don't recall it is because nothing of interest happened. Many of my birthdays I spent playing video games by myself.

Vanished about 4 in the morning and dodged family and friends until about 2 the following morning as they have a horrible habit of trying to plan things/do things (things that would be enjoyable just not things I care for doing just for a birthday). I think I had more or less given up drinking by this point so I know it was not that.

Other than that I tend not to do anything or be with people that have no idea when it is (although a floor full of post from all over the world did get a bit hard to explain-> lied and said it was next week). If someone needs an excuse to go somewhere it occasionally gets used for that (usually helped by my being in random places).

Thanks.

Don't mean to brag but my friends thought of going to Chessington Theme Park on Sunday so yes, it will be one of my best birthdays.

I went to Southern France with a bunch of mates, Cap D'adge. We booked the Holiday two days before going and got it cheap, it turned out to be a naturist resort

spent the whole two weeks hammered (very drunk for all you non UK peeps) and had a fantastic all over tan on return

can hardly remember a thing about the holiday though.

The reason for the quick holiday (and it is something I have repeated on special birthdays since always to different places) was, I found out my mum was planning a surprise 18th party with my friends and relatives invited "shudder" these just don't mix. apparently they had a wonderful time without me

still tickles me that it went ahead and I wasn't there.

I had dinner and kareoke with friends. It was alright but could have been slightly better. Unfortunately I had some bitter feelings shortly after which kindof spoiled the good memory.

My 19th is coming up shortly too. Im thinking dinner and drinks again... Anyone else got better ideas?

For my 18th, I'll probably go out for dinner, come home, play with my gifts, and sleep. I don't like big birthday bashes, I perfer to keep to myself. Maybe invite a friend or two over on the weekend to play some video games or something.

I don't celebrate my birthday. Birthday celebrations never made sense to me.

So yeah, a regular day, spent doing regular stuff.

I'm content, and don't need your sympathies.
