Never tried PS4, PS5 or Xbox One / Series S|X here.
Nintendo using digital triggers today (Wii, Wii U, Switch, Switch 2) while in the past having analogue triggers (Gamecube) is typical of Nintendo's cheap ways. Despite innovating in the past, they reversed course. This move naturally and effortlessly disqualifies their platforms from attracting any serious racing titles.
All first-party manufacturers should be ashamed for not using hall effect sensors in their sticks. Manufacturers using difficult-to-remove batteries (requiring tools) is simply ridiculous too.
Nintendo making blocky portables without curved edges in the past is an ergonomics error anyone who has spent more than a few seconds playing them can attest to.
I have not tried DualSense or Xbox One controllers but they look half-decent, ergonomically. I can say I much prefer the Xbox 360 controller to the DualShock 3. Both PSP and Vita were not ideal for extended play, but there are always compromises with portables. Gameboy Micro's biggest problem was it's tiny screen, to my eyes. Again, compromises with ergonomics.
My next controller will have hall effect sensors. I'm not interested in supporting Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft or anyone else not taking longevity seriously. I also prefer wired, but that's another story.
