What can a modded Wii do other then play homebrew games and apps and emulators and play backups maybe there is something I have missed or what are some good homebrew apps thx

nothing else, you covered all the possibilities :
homebrew games, game engine/maker
homebrew emulators
homebrew apps (covers a lot of possibilities ! from memory manipulation to media player, and even emulators or loaders are just "homebrew applications")

You can find a list of homebrew here :
http://wiibrew.org/wiki/List_of_all_homebrew

what else would you expect a console or computer to do except than running programs?
or which program would you expect that it's not already covered with what you listed? maybe "demo", they are neither games or application, just visual to show what the console (and developer) is capable of, like sprite moving, 3D, sound, hardware test, etc.

also like said above, it allows you to do game modding (like creating your own game level, track, music, etc.) or game hacking (adding things not natively supported or intended by developers : adding a controller type, like Gamecube controller support, for a game not designed to be played with that controller, etc.)

Since I own a bunch of Raspberry Pi's now, the only real benefit I can say that you will get is having all your Wii games running safely off the Hard Drive as opposed to scratchable discs.

And (drum roll please), having the ability to also run all your Gamecube games off of Hard Drive and play them with nearly any controller you want.

And (more drums) you can play almost all of the WiiWare and WiiVC content off your hard drive, thus saving your limited system memory for other things.

Yes, MOD a Wii, you'll be happier. And yes, there are a LOT of quality titles out there for it, it's just that most were not being sold at the local Wal-Marts or advertised heavily on TV, but they are out there.

Also play in 1080p with an upscaler which I payed £10 and trust me SNES emu, N64 Emu and GC and wii games have never looked so beautiful well worth the money and wiimm's Mario mod is epic hope to see a update maybe with extra characters though. TBH I had a PS4 and to this very day still prefer my wii plays a lot of good games plus Zelda is a must as well as the Zelda SNES mods like parallel worlds etc ...

The Wii is my favorite console of all time. It plays the massive Wii library, Gamecube, NES, SNES, Gameboy, GB Color, GB Advance, Sega Genesis, Sega Game Gear, Nintendo 64, and the many WiiWare games. Plus you can play DVDs and 480p videos. Also Netflix :D

And don't forget the YouTube app it got on it's deathbed! :D

Conkers bad fur day just turn 2xsal textures off cutscenes are slowish but after that game runs pretty much full speed after cutscenes I just turn 2xsal textures back on and still speed is good. And same for banjo kazooie and banjo tooie
Also have CPU frame buffering off.
Will get full setting config soon when I go back.on my wii
