Just bought a DSi Xl off ebay (hasn't arrived yet), so i don't know the firmware version. Assuming it's on the latest version, which card should i buy? Looked at all the stickies, Like the look of both the Acekard 2i and the R4i gold. Would both of these work with the latest firmware? If not, is there a way to downgrade the firmware? PLUS, where can i buy from in the UK? Help would be much appreciated!

A nice elaborated comparison made by Rydian (I think). though the options you want to consider are the DSTWO and the R4I Gold.

The acekard will not work on the latest DSi firmware, so go for the R4i.

http://www.cheapr4i.com/r4i-gold-3ds-for-3ds-3ds-xl-v45010-and-dsi-v145-p-184.html

I've linked you to a reliable seller which i've used more than once, and also the correct R4i, if you use em use the code ilove3ds for a 10% discount.

2.We will test it before ship to you,100% works your DSi or 3DS.

I would ask them before purchasing if you haven't any means to update it yourself.
Uh.. update? Looking around the forum, I've seen a few things about updating, most notably something to do with having an original ds to download something to, is that it? Cause i do actually have an original ds somewhere. Sorry for being such a noob, thanks for helping :)

Yes you will need a DS console that the cart works on to be able to update it, so e-mail them first to ask if the R4i works on the latest DSi firmware.
