Does anyone know of a way to acquire WEP keys using windows XP?

Depends on your network card.
Right Click My Computer > Properties > Hardware
And find your network card.

You're not cracking any networks with a Broadcom card and windows XP, but you might find success using a live Linux Distro (that runs from CD instead of installing on your hard drive). Backtrack is an awesome distro. You should check it out. http://www.remote-exploit.org/backtrack.html

It's quite easy to find guides on basic tools/methods for WEP cracking. You won't be able to get much done on a wireless network without much traffic, so that's where packet injection comes in.

Is there a way to grab a WEP key for a wireless network that you are connected to?

For example, someone puts a WEP key in the computer to connect to the wireless network and after a few months they want to use wireless on their 60GB PS3, but forgot the WEP key and the computer is already connected to the wireless network.

I believe that you can reset the router if that happens.

Thanks a lot, iritegood. I'm currently downloading the linux distro and will try out soon. Also, I've read a little bit through that thread as I'm noob-ish with Linux. I'll ask if I get stuck with something
