Gaming Weird screen tint after replacing case

Not me, a friend.

Okay, so I was replacing my DS Lite case today, and managed to do so pretty easily. It all worked fine until I was reassembling the bottom half. As I was doing so, a minescule chip broke off from somewhere, and afterwards the bottom screen had a strange blue tint which fades to orange.







So my question is...Is there any way to fix this? It's really dumb and I'd hate to find out I've permanently damaged my DS.

I'd consider him lucky that the screen is still detected.
Yes, it's fixable by buying a new connecter and soldering it onto the motherboard.
