All,

I know we've all beat this one around for a while, and I know the "current" max size for a USB drive is 500GB

Why can the size for WBFS be 1TB, 1.5TB, etc ..... Waninkoko wrote the filesystem is my understanding, so could he not make it handle whatever size drive we throw at it ?

Cheers,

He is presently working on WBFS + but no ideas as to when it will be out. Its really only a theory for now for the developers to work out how to do it and where to go,but a few are looking at it.

You created three threads with the same topic. I recommend deleting two of them.

LOL @ Don and djtaz... server made you double/triple post too. =P

Also, why complain about the 512GB limit? Do you even have enough games to fill that much space?

Kosaic, sorry if this is not what you meant, but I use a 1TB easy with the WII. I init and transfer on the PC side and read on the WII side. Never had so much as a blip or glitch using one partition for the entire 1TB.

typo99, Kosaic isn't saying you can't use a HDD larger than 500GB, he's saying you can't store more games on it than 500GB worth.

Actually, you can make a partition as big as you want, the only thing is that the USB Loaders (not the PC/Mac apps) can only dump on partitions that are 512GB, or less. YOu can use computer apps to dump games on them though.

EDIT: Partially agree with him ^^^. Guess I should have refreshed before typing this...

Are there even 160 games released for the Wii? (if we assume each game is on average 3 GBs, which is already overestimating) For that matter are there even 50 worthwhile games on the Wii?
I don't think partition size is an issue at the moment. Will likely be addressed in WBFS+ though.

I know someone
wacko.gif
that has 182 games .... 300GB (in WBFS sizing) with many more to go.

Imagine

lol... the same games from multiple regions or something?
but seriously, whats the point
tongue.gif
how many of those games is he/she ever going to play...lol

Hey AlexDP ... when is v2.3 coming out with Multiple, selectable extracting
smile.gif
(thought I'd ask since your here)

All 182 games are different ...

I heard somewhere that there are some 500+ different titles available for the Wii ... As a matter of fact, that must be true as I have 485 unique covers for NTSC alone ... xxxExx

v2.3 will come out over the weekend most likely. I'm currently working on Channel creation and Drive-to-Drive copying. Multi-extract is a really easy addition, which I'll be doing soon.
And wow... I wonder what the shovelware to worthwhile game ratio is there

lol, no kidding .. It is ridicolous to have that many games, but... if you can, I guess why not
smile.gif
It's all Waninkoko's fault if you ask me !

Glad to hear about 2.3 ... your WBFS tool is the best, hands down. Keep up the great work.
