Are you sure about that? This topic or another explaining how to use MacOs for cfw should be highlighted.
It would save people much trouble and save some time. Don't tell me they just have to make a simple research because no guide on how to install cfw ever talk about MacOs.
In the ReiNX guide, the archive bit issue is explained in the Troubleshooting section: https://reinx.guide/troubleshooting
In the Atmosphere guide written by Ev1l0rd, the archive flag problem is detailed at the very bottom of the FAQ portion: https://switchgui.de/switch-guide/faq/
And on this site alone we have not just one but two threads detailing the archive problem with MacOS users here and here.
The SX OS guide does not mention the archive flag issue in its guide so I will give you that. There is also another guide on SDSetup but the site is currently down, however I have a feeling it too mentions that same occurrence. Unfortunately, the pinned guide here is outdated (notice how it only mentions sending a payload from Windows even though you can send payloads from Linux, MacOS, Android, and even rooted iOS devices) so not terribly surprised it doesn't mention that.
All in all, this thread will get buried because like everyone else has said, this issue has been known for months and it is easy for someone to spot. If it makes you feel any better, this issue isn't exclusive to MacOS as certain builds of Windows 10 also applies the archive bit when transferring files. Alas, I don't have a list of the affected builds.
