Hi everyone,

I have an old 360 on 9199 with a flashed drive. It's been a few years since I've played my 360 so I haven't updated it in a long time. I recently decided to buy some newer games I never tried (Halo 4 and Gears 3) but the attempted forced firmware update fails, I believe because of the firmware on my drive. I'd like to reflash my original firmware but I don't have the tools anymore. BUT I do have my original firmware still. Does anyone know if I can just buy an XK3Y, put my firmware on it, and upgrade via USB? Or should I just buy the flashing tools instead and reflash my original firmware to my DVD drive?

Thanks for any suggestions :)

Thanks, I'll just buy the tools to re-flash the drive. Maybe some day I'll invest in a XK3Y but in the mean time I only have so much $$ I'm willing to spend.

Aye good luck.
A CK3i and a X360 USBPro v1 is needed.

You could check if your motherboard has a compatible SATA chipset, then you can use that, or go full ghetto on it and use the 360 as a power supply.

Or purchase a used X360 USBPro v2.

Eitherway, if your SATA chipset isn't compatible, it'll cost ya anyway.
