I do not know if certs are game specific.
Yes, you would want to remove the cert data. If you want these dumps to be like BBB dumps you replace the cert data with FF.
XCI Explorer can clear the certs for you.
This is all I know, the info is on Switchbrew.
The cert data needs to be replaced with FF’s not 00’s.

Yes, they will match if you blank out the certs with FF’s. Lost Sphere also has not been dumped by BBB but I happen to have that game.
There are some games BBB has not yet dumped. Plus, if you want to play online you need a valid and unique certificate.Why would you need to dump your own copy of games?We have google...
Oh, sorry stupid mistake, @AnalogMan is correct. Using FF's instead did end with a matching file and dumps are working with my tool! Well, excluding these new ones I haven't stumbled across yet with a new partition layout.

I see this on switchbrew "[4.0.0+] The "normal" partition is now empty and a new partition "logo" was added." but have not come across any carts with a version that high yet

Happy Birthdays, Legend of Kay, Cube Creator, and The Snack World Trejarers should all have the new logo partition.
Unsure, I have 4.1.0 so all games are within my firmware. Would like to hear from someone who can test that.

You could rent a game, dump it and return it. You would be sharing the header data. But it wouldn't be shared with potentially thousands of people on the internet, so may reduce you ban risk.Why would you need to dump your own copy of games?

Problem I see with this is that if someone else were to buy the game OR do what you did, now there are at least 2 people using the same header to go online so not exactly safe to just dump a game you plan on not keeping.
I can't confirm with certainty, but what I can say is that I've dumped 10 so far and not a single one has the same cert.
In fact I don't see anything in common at all except 0x7100 - 0x710F
I agree completely, I like my own copy. I am working a weird two sided thing. I'm downloading them because I'm building a tool to work with them, but I'm only using digital copies of ones I've purchased.
I just don't like carrying around all my carts. So why not buy digital? Ugh I wish digital was cheaper and I would. Best Buy discount also makes me sort of biased. So. Yeah.

Yes my point exactly agreed! I don’t fancy like going online with Mario kart, splatoon, pokken dx etc.. with a bbb release, no thanks I don’t fancy like unusable switch. The certs will be Cart binded bbb probably change the cert code to work without revealing the original cert.
