...the SD2Vita is a memory card adapter. Asking for this is like asking for a MicroSD to MicroSD converter that somehow holds 2 MicroSDs in the same space. That's not happening.

Not really if someone could hack it and make use of the cartridge reader on the switch for a 2nd M-SD and if the CFW supported it, remember with emunand the main Micro SD will be seen as the internal storage and then if well implemented the Cartridge M-SD would be seen as the SD by emunand and would be where games get installed but you could swamp them on-the-go and keep the same emunand M-SD all the time...

Since you will just simply either have to keep deleting all games to try new games, even the super expensive 400 GB is NOTHING for the long run, it can't even handle much of the games already out there specially with zelda+DLCs and games like wolfenstein will already eat a lot on just 2 games, if you have lots of smaller Micro SDs, you will keep loosing all EMUNAND data and you would have to keep either backing up and moving to all other SD's or at least keep moving the saves all the times for all SD's...

I my self when backups are possible I will probably buy a lot of 64GB Class A1 Micro SD's when they get in promotion, here its usually cheaper than going with the 128GB one, but I will really hate having like 20 of them after some time and keeping to move save data to all of them and have different games on each SD...

It would be just AMAZING having the emunand Micro SD all the time and use the cartridge to SD to put the games while having all the saves ALWAYS on the emunand SD 4 ever.

PS: And if the hacking scene someday moves to CFW on the NAND chip of the Switch it self, I will keep using EMUNAND, I don't even want to have my nand messed up, I like the safety that emunand provides where I can just test any alpha\beta apps without having to care if it will damage the whole emunand or delete stuff or whatever, just need a backup and the Switch would be back and running.

Thing is, the SD2Vita itself is a good example of the limitations of such a device, as I explained on the previous page or so.

What you suggest isn’t impossible, but switching cards on the fly wouldn’t be simple. In the case of the Vita, you have to rebuild the database every time you do this.

Yeah but like I said earlier too I guess its not supported since the device is not made by anyone who hacked the console... And for example if TX really releases something good at all and later if they also could make some kind of cartridge to Micro-SD device adapter, I'm sure they would make everything to fully suport it natively with hot-swapping.

Now if such device appears later, it will probably also depends a lot on the CFW devs to add good support of it and also the way the device would be made. If they could make it actually be detected on the console as external M-SD kaboom, all would work fine, if its separated then would be a problem with apps not being able to be read from there and would probably require a lot of time to code all that stuff ;).

ps: But I also don't really know if it would be possible, however I just like to dream about it. Having a M-SD for emunand and never have to remove it keeping all saves and having another port wich I would have tons of games on lots of SD's and just keep changing them . That would even make me feel like a GOD for a bit of time :P.

    Lol
Nobody will bother to make the cart prototype + the needed driver just for a second SD card slot.

The person who thought that for Vita actually did the research and effort to work out how to do it. Let us know when you've finished the prototype :P

My question is why would you want “SDtoSwitch” when it can already use a micro?

This is impossible until someone wants to spend millions to RE the cart security.

Yeah that's the problem... Doesn't mean though in the future they won't hack it specially after the console gets publicly hacked with software or hardware...

I don't care about the vita, but I think it was lot easier in it... Most laptops 4 example you can also add new hardware if you remove the WiFi card you can put other stuff in there too like a SSD. On my small laptop 4 example I can remove the WiFi card and put an SSD like m.2 PCIExpress and have a big HDD on the sata3 port but would lose WiFi...

I'm thinking Vita probably had a more common socket and probably not much protections in it while on the Switch yeah Nintendo must have a lot of security in there so that you can't tamper with it very easily ;).

But if the hacking community keep with emunand I think someone might get a way to achieve it, if the hacking community stop supporting emunand and they just install the CFW on the internal nand instead, no one will ever care 4 this.

Ps: but don't judge me wrong with the Vita stuff because I never cared for any Sony portable console, neither I will, so I don't know anything about the crap Vita neither I want to know anything about it... I just know it's outdated hardware is no match 4 even a very cheap phone from nowadays.

    Amazon.com, 32GB micro sd 13.97, 64GB is 22.44, two 32GBs are a bit over over $27

    128GB is 39.44, two 64GB are 44.88

Here is not like that usually the 64GB in promotion gets around 30eur something EUR class A1, while the 128GB is around 120eur and haven't seen much promotions...

128GB class 10 = 65eur (they are most likely too slow for emunand+cashing+playing)
    128GB A1 = 120eur
    200GB A1 = 150eur
    256GB A1 = 180eur
    400GB A1 = only a small price of 445eur LOL

None of the big sizes here gets in promotion since they are newer while the 64GB or 32GB class A1 even being recent too they keep going in promotion.

I had a class 10 64GB on my Nvidia Shield tablet as internal storage, first one died in less than a month from Kingston, I received a new one but anyway it's so slow that the Nvidia shield tablet felt like a dual core 1ghz with 512MB device, even the whole android with nothing installed keep stucking and lagging because android encrypts all data after using as internal storage...

Now I have the new class A1 32GB is billion times better than class 10 crap for internal storage and class 10 can die fast too...

A1 = the new spec of Micro SD specially to be used as internal storage, it's also made for heavy use of data caching and last longer than other Micro SD + it's always faster than crap class 10.

My brother has huge amount of dead class 10 micro SDs from Kingston, SanDisk, Samsung, they just die fast for heavy use specially 4k camera and are slow. My bro does paragliding and make a lot of videos...

ur issue is literally solved by just having two sd cards and swapping between them when u want to... there is no way that would justify something like that, that would simply add bulk to the system.

also idc who u are u don't need that many games at any given time. If you do, you need fresh air too...

yeah I just used "u" and I'm not about to fix it.

Hopefully when that day comes, it won't be such a convoluted mess to install games like the Wii U was. Like needing a HUGE SD card, just to install large games (or multiple games) to the USB drive.

That's a really, really good point, there's nothing stopping you from carrying around a "homebrew" SD card and a "games" SD card. Heck, you could even take another one with you, since if you own one of the official cases there are two microSD card cases in the game card cases

Problem again is Emunand lol... Either you will have a huge amount of different emunands each SD one or if you want just one and all data in it good luck backing up all the time and keep updating data on all M-SDs...

That's the reason why I still have Gateway on my 3DS, I can have 32GBs of games in my gateway micro SD and just a few games on the main big SD 16GB for emunand with all my data...

And anyway on 3DS we don't need huge amount of space while on Switch I'm wondering when most triple A games will be getting 50GB for a single game...

Ps: I like having lots of games and hate to delete stuff to test new stuff... I sometimes look at games and keep looking and end up playing none :)... I only have Zelda and I'm bored of it, wanted to buy one more game before CFW but after I see shit like Bomberman for 50eur mehh, I could buy a way better game for 1eur on my PC instead...

Or just one that's copied across your SD cards. That is also assuming that an emuNAND is required at all, though. I know that that's an initial feature of Atomsphere, but look at how the 3DS scene started out and where it is now
