Just putting this out there.

The vita with CFW allowed for the use of a specialised sd card cartridge adapter called the vita2sd.

With the switch pretty much being blown open this summer, it might be a good idea to get investigate the feasibility of such a feature for the switch as well.

Thoughts?

EDIT: Some of you asked why do you even need this? Simple. More memory. It might be more cost effective when you get 2x 128gb micro sd cards as opposed to just one 200gb memory card and etc etc

What does that adapter actually do? What functionality does it add compared to the internal sd?

But the switch uses microsd cards
Why would this even remotely be needed?

Sd2vita uses the game card to give you the ability to use microsd.

i guess what the op means is we can use aomething of the same thing to add more than one sd card.

i dont see the point honestly just buy a bigger one :D

Yeah, we all know that

More memory of course

I think what you actually want is something like sky3ds

Nope.

It might be more cost effective to get two smaller memory cards. Also, this will double the maximum possible memory

OP, are you talking about for like Card2sd adapter?

If that is the question, not now untill a skilled hcker knows how to use the dumped games.
But it will used the adapter for BACKUPED games if the sd card itself cant execute the game.

Btw for now its not possible to play dumped games on switch for a end-user.

Unnecessary, no one would work on that type of thing for the Switch because 512GB microSD cards and even 1TB ones are just right around the corner. And since the Switch is compatible with SDXC it'd be a waste of time and resources to build a ''Switch2SD'' sort of converter.

Except it will be cost prohibitive.

There is a 100tb ssd in existence but does it mean we can all afford it suddenly? No. If the cost per GB for micro sd does not scale up for higher capacity cards, then this hypothetical adapter will be useless.

MicroSD cards are cheaper than SSDs.
